These terms govern use of Bookly by readers, authors and publishers. By creating an account or purchasing a plan, you agree to them.
1. The service
Bookly provides catalogue, hosting, online-reading, analytics and account tools. Books are free for readers unless explicitly stated otherwise. We may improve, secure, suspend or discontinue features where reasonably necessary.
2. Accounts
You must provide accurate information, safeguard your credentials and promptly report unauthorised access. Publishing and billing features require a verified email address. You are responsible for activity carried out through your account.
3. Your publications
You retain ownership of your content. You grant Bookly a worldwide, non-exclusive licence to store, process, reproduce and display it solely to operate and promote the service. You confirm that you hold all necessary copyright, privacy and other permissions.
4. Plans, usage and payment
Plan prices, book limits, storage limits and per-file limits are shown before purchase. Paid plans include a reader-transfer allowance. Transfer above that allowance is charged at £0.03 per GiB and may be collected in approximately £50 increments. Stripe processes payments. Taxes may apply.
If a payment fails, requires authentication or reaches an unpaid usage threshold, public access to your publications may be paused until payment succeeds. Usage measured by Bookly may be reconciled against hosting access logs.
5. Cancellation
You may cancel through the billing portal. Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the paid period. Accrued usage charges remain payable. See our Cancellation and Refund Policy.
6. Moderation
We may remove or restrict content or accounts that breach these terms, our Acceptable Use Policy, law, third-party rights, security requirements or payment obligations. We may preserve evidence and cooperate with lawful authorities.
7. Availability and liability
We use reasonable care but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free availability. Nothing excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded. Subject to that, our aggregate liability connected with a paid account is limited to fees paid by that account during the preceding 12 months. We are not liable for indirect loss, lost opportunity or publisher content.
8. Changes and law
We may update these terms and will give reasonable notice of material changes. English law governs these terms and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, without affecting mandatory consumer rights.
